Thanks for the well written and thought out reply.
I do understand where you are coming from and why you are asking the question.

Pistons from that seller often do not measure to what they are claimed to.
In many circumstances, they fall short in compression height.
It would be prudent to request some measuring before they send them, as well as measure your block's deck height beforehand.
I almost regret giving as much info as I did in the previous responses.

Not as much as I regret asking the question
It looks like the only way I will get the answer I need is to buy a high comp 364 piston and look myself.
I find it astounding that it seems that no one in nailhead land has ever done this comparison.
There is an ebay seller with s/h high comp 364 pistons for sale now, so it seems that is the route I will have to go

Well, that's one way to find out.
I'd probably have the seller charge $20 to my card and have them open the box or just call Tom for pistons when the time is right.
Not trying to argue but you seem to be setting yourself up for disappointments no matter what, when there's easy solutions abound.

Pretty much the only difference between the "high" compression pistons and the lower compression ones is the compression height of the piston.

It wouldn't make sense to make the dome higher or lower to raise compression when they can raise or low the flat the dome protrudes from. So a higher compression piston will have a shorter dome measured from the "top" of the piston. Although measuring the "top" of the piston from the centerline of the wristpin, the higher compression piston will be "higher" than the lower compression piston.

I hope this helps and doesn't add to the confusion.
