Does anybody other than TA Performance sell the 3/16” thick 455 oil pan gasket? They are on backorder at TA and I need one ASAP. Thanks.
Or glue two gaskets together with weatherstrip cement. https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog...+455cid+v8,1379785,engine,oil+pan+gasket,5436
I thought about that Larry but that would make it 1/4” which is too thick in my opinion. I’m hoping someone has a part number or knew who made the 3/16” gasket.
I’m worried about the rubber seal on the rear main being too thin and not crushing enough to seal on the lip of the pan.
Thanks Jim! If you had a couple of missed calls from a 214 number yesterday, now you know who and why I was calling!
I don't see where the Ebay link states it is thicker. I looked that part number up on Rockauto, https://www.rockauto.com/en/parts/mahle,OS31582,oil+pan+gasket,5436 Says, 1/8" thick, https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=2185156&jsn=262
I’m using the stock style TA pan, which I believe it is recommended to use the rubber seal, and not a thick bead of the elastomeric sealer as recommended with other aftermarket pans.
The Rockauto link is for the Mahle brand, not Victor. I believe I can get the Victor gasket here locally at Summit, so I think I’m set.
Well, then you'll be able to check it before you buy it. From what I can see, Victor and Mahle are associated with one another. https://bangshift.com/general-news/...ow-mahle-clevite-and-victor-reinz-came-to-be/
