New to Buick. I have a 455 with dual AFB's? The engine is in a custom 53 Hudson it all looks stock backed by a 400 tubo trans. I'm looking for help in finding what year it is? I can't find any information on the dual carb engines for 70-76? What models they used the engine in? Any help would be appreciated!!

Dual four carb intakes were not offered by the Buick factory in production runs for any 455 model year. It is either aftermarket, like Offenhauser, experimental or made up. Buick offered dual fours for 425 cid nailhead engines in the 63-66 models years. Since you said the engine has AFB carbs, I would like to see a picture. If the distributor is in the back of the engine, you have misidentified your engine as a 455 when it either a 401 or a 425 Buick.

It is a 400/430/455 series Buick engine. The picture does not show the intake well enough for me to ID it. It would likely be an aftermarket Offenhauser, a made up unit based on a MOPAR design, or a Buick factory R & D intake that never went into production.

[IMG] Here is a picture of a Buick Offenhauser manifold. You should be able to see the name if this is what you have.

I would ask some others to address this. We have 2 fours on a 426 Dodge and like it. We have run 3 deuces on an Olds and like that. If fuel consumption is not an issue, it has some eye when the hood is up.
