how many hp to turn a water pump on a 455 buick? thanks. kenny462
not for sure, but if on a race only application the benefits of an electric driven water pump exceed the only the hp gained, it's nice to be able to cool down quickly after the pass in summer, especially when the rounds gets closer together.
I used a morose add on unit for years with no issue, after 10 or 12 years it died, it's new replacement lived 20 mins, after that I bit the bullet and sprung for the high flow unit TA sells, worth every penny
Not enough to full with HP wise imo, but as Ben said its convenient for bracket racers
About 5 to 8 hp is used to drive the pump depending on engine rpm.
A full electric pump on the street is fine until one scrap of rust scale or a chip of gasket material jams up the impeller and blows the fuse 25 miles from home !
Ask me how I know this fact!
thanks for info! my try new maziere pump.red ,polished or natural finish.buy pump thru TA.$400.
