Do someone know the weight of a 455 with alu intake, alu heads and headers ?
compared to the 450 lbs stock 350

for the stock 455 i have found 600 or 640 lbs, what is correct ?

    yes that is perfect, thanks

if i read this right, there is -64 lbs for both heads and another ca. - 50 lbs for the intake,
so the weight is not far from the stock 350 and maybe there is no need for the 455 front springs ?

616 lbs is the weight I see most often for the BBB. I would think with aluminum heads and intake, you are right around 500 lbs.

I would not get too excited about springs until I got it together. I've put 455s I small block and even V6 card and not changed springs.

This was written by one of the factory workers in a 1970 Factory 36 Engine handbook. I can't vouch for its accuracy but it is in line with Larry's number.
