In the wake of all the amazing pictures I've seen posted here and on social media the last few days, it just dawned on me that 2019 marks the 50th anniversary of the Stage 1 option.

A lot has changed in the last 10 years or so, in terms of exposure. Last night, I was able to sit on my couch and watch Brad's interview with the prototype on my laptop, so I figure this is a good medium for garnering some interest for an event such as this.

I've never been to either of these events - which is clearly pathetic, given my passion for these cars - and would definitely make it a point to get to both for a special event such as the golden anniversary of Buick's pinnacle high performance option.

I know the gentleman who runs the MCACN show is accessible on social media, so at some point, I'll reach out to him to get a feel on how to go about arranging this. Bowling Green is most likely very easy.

    Anyway - thoughts, suggestions, comments?

    Hi Brett,

I’ve been to MCACN twice now, and BG the last 13-14 years. I can’t help you in regards to planning an event , but what I can tell you is that I wish I had started going to both events much sooner. In other words, don’t wait any longer and just start going. The special friendships you make will help insure that your interest and involvement in the hobby will grow, and the special events will just become icing on the cake.

Yes, we are. MCACN 2019. Ajesh is the go to guy for MCACN as he spearheaded the GSX gathering this year.

Could be a spectacular ordeal. I would like to see something done in BG since for all nostalgia and history of Buick Performance, outside of Flint, it has been the witness to anything and everything Buick.

If the right people are involved, Denny Manner, and with help from people like Brad Conley, Duane Heckman, Sid Meyer, Marco's stage 1 registry and others it could be a really outstanding event. The BPG reunion was pretty sweet as i loved the difference between stage 1s that were full frame off, survivors, and those that were literally pulled out of a garage or barn just before the 2010 event.

MCACN is a great place as well for it as last time i went was about 4 to 5 years ago. From what i hear though, they will be very heavy in Mopar and Chevy vehicles the next 2 years for their particular car showings.

I am all up for assisting as i have a way through old pictures and what not of firing up people's nostalgia and fueling their desire to get their Buicks back on the road and on the track aka Super 16 Reunion and another hopeful class i am thinking will make its debut in BG in 2019.
