55 Amp Alternator #1100774 - Date Codes 9K/9L/9M - Any Condition

    Brett,
    The pics are of the one you have? My '71 Skylark had an odd number on it, forget the exact number but the GM Parts manual I had listed it as '71 Buick with AC only. Believe it was also 55A. I found an easy route to restore it by stripping it down to the raw parts. Blasted & restored the case. Bought a rebuilt unit locally & transferred all the new parts into the original case. Not a hard job.

    The pictures were posted by another member and if I found the correct date coded unit, what you suggested is probably the route I'd go.

    Patience is the key. I looked for a dated power steering box cover for mine. I was rebuilding one to have a s a spare ( Winter months here are very very long HA!). Found one after 2-3 months within 2 days of my original factory build date.
