Royden, that's a great combo, I've always liked that build. How's shipping back to the US, got a ballpark idea? Not currently in line but wondering about shipping. Thanks, and Good Luck! Philip T.
Thanks for your kind words mate. I do love this engine and how easy it drives on the street and then how it gets angry when you give it some. I will make some enquiries and post them here
Not really Dan, if anything I would keep the short block and sell the heads, cam, tunnel ram and carbs, but for now I want to keep it as a full package. My plans need it all gone for them to happen
Unfortunately the market is drying up due to the lack of progress ,innovation and parts available to even finish projects.I’ve been waiting over seven months to try and put an engine together can’t do it because there’s no Cams available.Trying so hard to remain Buick loyal but it’s just becoming impossible. Wish I could sell all my parts and switch to a different power plant unfortunately I would have to give it away. It’ll be another year gone by without driving my car
I know what you mean............the parts and the ppl to do the work is getting harder and harder. My build is no where even in the ballpark as this one or toms. But i see other guys i race hurt a motor and have it back in just a few weeks. My next motor has been waiting almost 24 to get the girdle even fitted. The only reason I haven't gone and plucked it is I dont have the funds to complete it anyways.........
I can fully understand...…………. it's been over 2 years and I'm not really close to having my Tomahawk to put in my car. Don't get me wrong...… my car's not ready either, but I would have been way farther along, (if not finished with it), if the engine would have been sitting in front of me on an engine stand for motivation! I really can't blame anyone in particular for not having it sitting "finished" in my shop, but rather a multitude of different "situations" and "circumstances" that has all but stopped the progress of the build. Not having a running Buick is KILLING ME!!! I'm getting very tired of "spectating" and ready to start "participating" once again. At least the guy that built my oil pan, valve covers, mid plate, alternator & vacuum pump mounts, headers, etc., etc., has not let me down! Those parts have been done, sitting on my shelf for quite some time..... waiting for the rest of the engine to arrive!!!! LOL!!
Amen Steve, seems like these days that’s the only way to have any kind of control is to do things yourself. It’s so frustrating to know that you can go by A LS crate engine from GM with a supercharger on it making well over 1000 hp. Trying very hard to remain Buick loyal,it’s just getting harder and harder!
I was pretty lucky when we put a new cam in due to excessive wear on the cam gear. Chris Skaling got a cam core for me in record time. If the engine sells I’m going to a 732cui Mopar
732 CI Mopar........... I can see that..... since the car is a Dodge to begin with. Nice car...…….. and I'm sure whatever you do in the next "phase" will be outstanding!! Good luck with the sale of the engine. Well worth the money to someone that wants/needs this setup. But, I'm sure you're just like me in that respect...…….. when I build a project, it's over the course of several years and the money is well "spread out" vs. writing one or two huge checks! Even though I'll have the same dollar amount in mine as you have in yours, I could never pull it off all in one shot. That's probably the case for the majority of potential buyers, so finding the right guy that has the "need" and the "cash" is going to be a little tougher to do...……….. it'll happen...…. just takes a while longer than normal!! Best of luck!!
