This four-door Buick Special will donate it’s front end to save my badly burned Skylark. It is a noble sacrifice. Nothing will be wasted, between my Skylark project and my brother’s Special project, we will use most of it.

Will you be using the driver's quarter panel skin?

I’ll check with my brother, he has dibs on the back end.

Sorry to hear you had a fire. Car lover's worst nightmare.

The Buick and the things of the Buick had become his obsession...

Hello WV-Madman, my obsession became your obsession. Good thing for me because while I have been working on Army helicopters, you have become a Buick encyclopedia and one heck of an auto mechanic. You have already given me some great advice and I have barely started my restoration. Thanks Bro.

Yes it is a nightmare, but I actually bought it after the fire. I knew it would be a lot of work, but it looked so sad I had to try to bring it back to it’s former glory.

The breather top is salvageable, but the bottom plate fell apart

I seen that car posted for sale a few months ago and would of loved to get my hands on it to make sure it was rescued from the shredder! Thanks for recuing it Joe, looked like a nice car pre-fire, glad your making progress on reviving it.

I will PM you some engine info to not fill up your thread with to much tech talk.
