Well picked this one up the other day. 95,000 miles, 300 4 barrel with ST 300. Has been in storage for 7 years. Changed the oil shot some oil down in the cylinders cranked over by hand. Cleaned the fuel tank and replaced all rubber lines. Replaced fuel filter and cleaned carb. Replaced brakes shoes, rubber lines, master cylinder and wheel cylinders. Replaced rear axle bearings and seals. Fired her up and ran and stopped like a champ. Trans even shifted great. Now on to getting her to look really good.

Well I took Old Yeller on a drive down the expressway Saturday. Drove straight down the road and stopped on a dime. Had to order a new fuel tank and sender. Also ordered a new flywheel. I need to find a idle stop switch (stator switch) for the trans. Found a NOS one today but $385.00 was just a little high. I think I could wire it to the brake switch and get the same reaction.

Have been working on it at the Dealership. The garage at the house is full of other projects.
Hope to get here home in the next few weeks to really get going on it.

Where do you find all these gems? :TU::TU:

And a 4bbl bucket set car too. I'm jealous. Great find Jim,

    Hey Steve,
The guy I bought I from had towed it around for 7 years. He lost the drive shaft when he had it on a dolly towing it from Louisiana. He was going to take it to Colorado with him but decided to sell it to me after he saw my post car. Bought it for $3500

    Thanks
It will work by this summer the wife said...LOL, The original compressor is seized. I have pressure tested the system and pulled a vacuum on it with no leaks found. Pulled out 1.75 lbs of R-12 after sitting 7 years. I have a shop here that is reworking all the hoses for R-134. I have a good compressor I got from Zoomin. Changing the system to a fixed orifice system.

So it better be ready by summer...

They make a variable orifice that drops in just like the fixed orifice. It will lower your vent temp at least 5 degrees over a fixed orifice. The tube going into the stock evaporator is the right diameter, you'll need to put some dimples in the side of the inlet tube so the orifice doesn't fall in too far, then gut the old expansion valve. I'm not sure what to do with the POA valve, I know they make them calibrated for R134 but that's for use with an expansion valve calibrated for R134. Sounds like you are planning to put a pressure cut-off switch on the low side. I'm sure whoever sells you the compressor will know exactly how to set it up. Let us know how it works out. I've want to try this on my 65s.

Well haven't been able to do much to Old Yeller lately but I did give it its first bath this morning. The dirt just rolled off of her, along with some oxidized paint. A friend came by and wet sanded and buffed the hood. What a difference.

Are the cops looking for you??

Cause you stole that car. I been looking for a car like that for years with the 300 and ac. Nevermind that gorgous interior!!! Plus that price was incredible!!!!

Best of luck with her bro.

Real nice find, i paid more than that for mine and it had some bad body work and rot no less been hit really hard on the whole left side at one point in its life. Glad to see someone putting some love into that car and not just driving the wheels off it because it was cheap.

Nice looking car. Some nice Rally wheels will make it look even better.

    Thanks Joe,
I guess all the planets just aligned right for me. I looked at this car 6 months earlier and the guy was going to move it to Colorado with him. I posted it on this site for him when it was for sale but he had no takers. He left it in Tulsa when he moved then texted me 6 months later wanting to know if I was still interested and we did some dickering back and forth. The floor pans and trunk are in great shape. Will have to put carpet and headliner in.

This one does have some rust around the lower windshield and also the back glass. Will get that fixed when I finally get it home. I have had a friend from a body shop stop by and he said there is some bondo in it but is very minimal.

Great to have these older Buicks especially working at a Buick Dealership. The older customers that come in all have stories about when they were younger, and the Buicks they drove.

    Hey Steve thanks

I think I finally got lucky.
It will never be as nice as your car, that thing is sweet. But Moma will be driving it by spring. All the guys at the shop want me to take my post car and put a 455 and a 4 speed in it now. So am looking for an engine and I am building my son a 700 r4 for his Chevelle and he is bringing me all of his 4 spd Muncie stuff. So I will go searching for a bell housing and clutch setup for it.

    Thanks Todd,
Already have the rally wheels for it, compliments of Steve (Zoomin). So Moma has already claimed those wheels which were suppose to be for my post car. It is just amazing how easy it is to get her to say yes to purchasing something for her car...My car lives on a budget, and it seems like it gets slimmer all the time. LOL

Yeah I was going to suggest you contact Zoomin. I knew he had a set. Where in Louisiana did the car come from? Do you know

I don't know where but the guy works for Pepsi and he told me they move him every couple of years. He had owned the car for many years. Was always stored indoors. The car was originally bought in Texas then was moved to Colorado, then to Virginia I think he said before moving it to Louisiana, then to Tulsa. One cool feature some one put on was a block heater, and it still works. It hasn't been registered since 2007
