1. Will a gas tank for a '65 chevelle wagon fit a '65 special wagon? I have a line on brand new tanks and would like to go that route when building my big $$ fuel system 2. What is the WIDEST rim and tyre combo one can fit in the stock wheel wells with stock width diff. Wheel offset and backspacing would be very helpful. Going to need all the traction I can get, while retaining the stock wheelwells. Thanks, wes
I'd see what the 65 Skylark guys are doing, I think its the same wheel well and axle width... my experience was with Torque Thrust D's the 8.5 width did not work because of the backspacing- too wide with 8.5's...had to use 7.5 w. (still have the brand new TTD's) Carmen had talked to me about his combo "in the day", custom bs different on left and right, opined that it was car specific, ie may have to measured and tested for your car. Not sure on the fuel tank, sure seems like that would be the same as the Chev ...are they the same wheelbase? Sport wagons are longer. Specialwagon = non boxed frame, short wheelbase.
Thanks Ted, I'll do some more searching and post what I find... Funny, my special is a 'lil red wagon too, albeit a bit faded. Say, you wouldn't happen to have an extra trim piece such as this one, except for the driver's side would you? I think it's the "C" pillar trim. Thanks, wes
