65 wildcat convertible with air

Not mine, seems decent in pictures, bucket seat convertible with A/c, Manitoba cars are typically not to rusty.

 

Like it but dont think I have it in me to get another one out of Canada. Not a member of that site and dont wanna join. How could I get a message to them?

 

That's quite an option load on that car: leather seats, buckets, power driver seat, pwr windows, pwr vent windows, pwr locks, A/C, pwr steering, pwr brakes, long console w/ tach, tilt and probably some more I am missing ... pwr antenna on the left rear top quarter panel???. Nice.

 

i sent the owner an email asking for contact phone number, it looks like a tach in the console as well.....yes lots of options on this one for sure.

Oh, it's tempting...it's the last thing I need though, I've already got 2 'verts that sit 8 months out of the year, a third would be stupid. Never seen a 65 with that kind of an options load though; it would be worth it to rescue that car.

Kijiji is just like Craigslist, no need to join anything, just call. I can't remember how many times I pulled the trigger on a car and something else comes along that is better.
With all you learned about importing cars, shouldn't be a problem the second time

I was talking to the guy this afternoon and as of then it was still available

 

O.K. Ad still comes up as no longer Available, BUT right below that banner is the ad for the Wildcat. Probably pulled the ad when he got an offer and reposted it.

Yeah, that'd be the one to get, - Briz, good luck if you decide to pull the trigger on this one. Seems you're destined to deal with Canadian convertibles.

 

It is still available. Messaged the owner again last night and it seems his ad expired. We talked price and agreed to 5500.00 USD. Then he sent me close up pics of the rockers, door bottoms and rear 1/4's. Based on what I saw showing and what has to be hiding under the paint just blistering to come through I decided to pass. With the purchase price, customs broker, transport and associated fees to get it registered then the major rust repair, I decided to pass. If it was in the states and much closer to Florida or if he comes down to 1/2 the agreed price, I might reconsider.

 

Interesting to see it from the other side; I hear you. I see so many cars in the US that I'd love to get, and all for the same reasons as well as one you don't have, a punitive exchange rate, I've been forced to pass so many times. I'd go for this one, but like I said earlier, I've already got 2 and I don't really want another project, especially a body-job. Engine work is one thing, but body work is outside of my realm.

 

Its only 5 hours from me, if someone really wants it, send me the money, I will go get and keep it at my place until you can make arrangements to come get it...just saying

It was a good offer, the car is great, but how many of us are still in any kind of condition to do what will essentially amount to a frame off? If I was 20 years younger and still in my prime, - no question, I'd have jumped at it. Oh yeah, I didn't have any money then...so much for that.

 

It always seems that when I have money (rarely) I don't have the time. When I have the time, I have no money.
