Just spent a while going thru the paperwork on my 65 Wildcat convertible to verify the interior code and options as delivered. I bought it in 1992, but today I noticed a thing or two I blew past before.

Car was built March 1965 and delivered to Pollino Buick/Pontiac, Ambler PA. Anyone remember this dealer? I think they were gone by time I moved to PA in 1984.

Car sat for a year, was sold March 1966 by Kutner Buick, Philadelphia, no trade and about 25% off sticker price---good deal? Don't recall this dealer either, but believe they were a big player in their day.

The build sheet shows wire wheel cover option which is not on the sales invoice from Kutner and not there when I got it. Good thing car sold before more parts disappeared!

#654 interior (white bench seat with folding center armrest) must have been a mid-production option. It is not listed in my 1965 Color and Trim book, nor is it listed in the charts in the front of my parts books. Anyone happen to have documentation showing when it became available?

1965 #654 = Green and Ivory Vinyl Interior Bench in a Wildcat 4dr HT Sedan (series 6639)
Also #654 is a Green and Ivory Cloth and Vinyl in an Electra 2dr (8237) 4dr HT Sedan (8239) and a 4dr Sedan (8269).

1965 #674 = Ivory Vinyl Bucket Seat Interior in the Wildcat Convt. (6667) and 2dr HT (6637).

#654 shows to be 1965 only.
It does not appear in my '64 or '66 trim listings.

    Hope this helps :TU:

No help here, but seems similar to my car in terms of the B3 option- it says B3 is not available with Wildcat Custom Bucket seats, but mine has buckets. :Brow:

    Thanks for the replies!

It was normal for buick to add and discontinue availablity of options, option combinations, and interior trim during the model year; usually accompanied by a letter to dealers, and sometimes reflected in revised sales brochures, dealer books, etc.

I'll double-check the trim code but pretty sure I got it right.

Curious if anyone else has the same interior in a 65 Wildcat, what trim code is on the body tag, and what is your build date???

My '59 had a Pollino dealer ID on the rear. I visited there circa 1990, the dealer had changed names & I believe original location (was still the Ambler area), but the son of the owners still worked there. Nice guy, gave me the dealer code cause he still remembered it. Made contact again with him last year, he's at Bergey's Buick GMC in Souderton, PA, but he said any records or dealership info/paperwork is long gone.

    Hi John,

I lknow this is an old thread but I just ran across it today so hopefully you still have the car! I have a Buick Portland Zone letter which dates the trim changes you asked about. Apparently Buick dropped the white custom bucket seat/shorty console trim for the notchback custom bench seat at the end of January `65.

    Hi Mark,
Thanks for your reply also. I see on Bergey's website their sales manager is Jim Pollino, but he looks too young to have been working in '65 when my car was delivered.

    ^ He’s the dealer namesake’s son.
