So now I am a robot? That's the thanks I get for finding you the midnight blue 4 speed as soon as it was listed and before Dan got to it? :moonu:

No Dan, he doesn't get up early and scan the listings every morning, I usually do that for him. :beers2:

Man, you guys truly subscribe to the one-who-dies-with-the-most-stuff-wins philosophy. I think I just got a glimpse of my future...scan the web/newspaper for more cars, buy more cars, build a barn for my cars. Oh, this is gonna be fun.

How do you decide which car your gonna drive for the day?

Thanks for the numbers, Jimmy! You know you relly need to post more Youtubes...
Is it me, or have you gotten all of your cars in as nice a shape as they look at present? Aside from my first car, I have preferred getting them in fixer-upper shape, and bringing them back to glory. Part of it, is feeling that I saved another from the crusher. Too, I like knowing that there are no hidden problems when I am finished. If I fixed it up, it is MINE, and I don't have to consider myself as a caretaker for the last guy's years of care. When I drive them, I don't worry about spinning those original bearings, or having an old brake line fail. I don't drive them hard, but know it's all there when I want it.
Back before I had a "reputation" to protect, my 4-speed only lost 2 races (against a nitroused Challenger, and a '70 455 H.O. 4-speed GTO). Among the cars it beat were a 67 427 Fairlane and a '67 390 Mustang, and a '70 GTX. These cars had the looks, and the juice to back it up. My Stage 1 never lost a race, and there were some hot cars out there, but my '66 always FELT quicker. Maybe it was the way the whole car shuddered and bounced with each bang-shift, or the gowling exhaust, that was somehow more smooth in the 455. Either way, if offered a choice of only one car to keep, it would definitely be the '66. I understand completely why you sold the GSX's and stuck with the '66's. The Stage is cool, but not as cool as a Blue mist '66 on the parkway and neon diner light. Dan

    Hey Dan,

Hey Jimmy! I just visited your VERY NICE website and found out you include 65's as well...HOW SAWEEET is that? I am relatively a newbie to the 65 era and will need some help/input, THAT IS,.., IF & WHENever I can find the $$ and time to restore my 65 GS Vert 4 speed. ..anyway, speaking of input...I believe RAY ACKERMAN lives south of me in in Naples Florida, right? Over the years, I've tried to reach him but fail to do so...Do you have any contact info on him? :TU: Wheelz, Tampa Bay

Thanks, Jim. My verde green GS sounds a lot like yours! In pieces but I have most everything. Its a black top and black bucket seat interior. The car needs everything. The original engine is long gone, but I have a 66 401 for the car with 65,000 original miles. I also have a date correct T-10 4spd that I will substitute for the 3 spd.
I think production #'s for 3spd cars is 136. Is that correct? Would you happen to know how many verde green 3spd convert GS were made?
    Thanks, Mike

    hi Mike,
Nope dont have the numbers and breakdowns of colors for 3 speeds,4 speeds, and autos...and yes 136 is correct...they are rare with a 3 speed...I have all the parts mines is a power bench seat 3 speed ..black top black int..the only thing missin is the original 3 speed shifter...I dont have it.. so I have been looking for one... as i recl I have only seen one other conv 3speed car..it was red and was pullled out of a barn in WV..the nose wasnt on it.. so..they are rare for sure..not very popular..but...then again its a buick
