Did anyone ever do a road test on a 66 L-79 Nova back in the day?
If there was one, does anyone here have a link?

    Thanks,
    Tom

WTF??? Didn't they use 3rd & 4th? Ran it in reverse?

Here's another, but not big enough to read, don't know month/year of issue.

My neighbor bought a new one in '66...Yellow with a black interior, redline tires, SS hubcaps, 4 speed.

That car really moved....327/350 HP with solid lifters...revved liked a mutha!

Kenny Craighead "Box" one of my school pals had a Dark red/black top/black guts 4sp. It was quick right off.

Before the first summer was over it had a straight axle, Lakewood bars, and fender well Jardines.

Later with a cam and gear change it was a real contender.

Havent thought about that car or Kenny in years, Thanks for the trip.

The first road test was not only a powder glide but it was not the L-79, but rather the 275 H.P. 327.

You would think with the reputation those cars have we would see a Nova show up for the PSMCDR.I can't remember seeing one at the three races I have attended so far.

My Chevy dream-car is to build a SA L-79 Nova p/g in the same spirit that Jim built Mighty-Mouse. With today's p/g technology and all the sb chev tricks, this would be one exciting car. I might only like to deviate by using a painted aftermarket aluminum 427 stroker long-block in place of the 327 stuff.
