    Hi all,

My '66 tail panel was painted the same color as the rest of my car (Blue Mist). I know the panel between the taillights is supposed to be black. My question is, is it a matte, gloss, flat, or low gloss black and does the black extend to under the taillight housing ?

    Thanks in advance

    NJBuickRacer I'd rather be racing...

Mine is gloss black, and doesn't seem to have ever been touched. I'll see how far the gloss black goes.

Harry, Buick issued a service bulletin on this... as some early cars went thru with the panel painted body color.
10 degree gloss is a bit glossier than flat....more like an eggshell.
    Here's a copy!

Thanks alot guys. My car was built in March of '66. I masked everything off and shot it with 'low gloss' black. Walt the low gloss, came up with an eggshell look to it. Hopefully it is fairly close. It should only be on there a month or two more before the car goes in for body work and new paint. I just couldn't stand it not being black (pet peeve) I think the blacked out panel looks better.

Anyone know if this formula is the same or similiar to the black stripes on the 70-72 gsX?
