Wow!!! with prices going sky-high on these cars, that guy could have sold it for 12K. I am really suprised that he only wanted 6K...probably should have not have put a "buy it now" and just let the auction ride for the seven days. Someone really got a great deal!
Dude, trust me when i say that car was bad i mean it was bad, dont let the pics fool ya,and with no parts availability for these cars it aint worth it,i`d rather spend more for something ready and mint. Thanks
Ed, Here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...tem=4541292483&category=16124&sspagename=WDVW
No,he sent me detailed photos, the quarter panels were bondo`d bad,the trunk lid ad all bondo thick bondo on the underside, the doors were all bondo on the inside lower part all the way up where you can usually see the seam where the outer door is connected to the inner, looks to have been hit between the door and quarter on the driver side lower parts cause he shot a pic of it with the door open and it was bondo`d and patched there as well, trunk floor and quarters had metal repair panels, very visible, floors looked nasty, frame is rusting from the inside out, does not have the original motor in it,i wish i would`ve kept the photos he sent me so you guys can see what i`m talking about, whomever bought it is in for a surprise,he did not list any of the photos he sent me on ebay. Thanks
Not the original motor. No 4 speed console, no power windows, no air, no doubt no power driver seat or tilt wheel. Interior looked horrid. The seller said it might need frame work. Which if it does it will probably need floor work. I'd say it is worth $3,500 after seeing the pics. & what staged67pwer said the car was like. The only way to fix the body on the car is to form and butt weld the sheet metal. The seller knew what is was really worth. That is why you could "buy it now" for $6,000. He made out like a bandit. Sweet lookin car though. :TU:
Well, at least the seller sent pics to potential buyers. Pictures on ebay should at least show the specific damage areas. I would assume that many folks thought it was a great deal in accordance to the pics that were listed on ebay.
Ken,the pics on ebay did`nt show anything from what i saw,put it this way, would i leave this car go after i`ve been looking for a 4-speed car for the longest?
I'll take your word on it George. :TU: Too bad your ragtop is so pristine, original, and "low miles". Wouldn't take a whole lot to convert it to a 4spd :Brow: This is why I prefer Skylarks..... I don't even have to think twice about hacking them up and making them however I want them. No guilt at all.
Anyone out there know how many "REAL" ones are still around?? I knew of Larry Millers car and maybe one or two on the board plus mine.
Gary i wish i knew more "Real"ones also but i dont, only urs and Larry`s and a couple of guys here on the board,i`m even willing to trade my convertible automatic for a 4-speed,i`m hoping someone some day may get sick of driving a stick and want an auto, lol. Thanks
