    Here's my dilema -

The original scheme is Gold Mist with Ivory Interior. The wife likes Platinum Mist.

All of my internet seaches have not come up with a Platinum exterior and and Ivory Interior. Has anyone seen one? What's the consensus? I feel the ivory interior has to stay. I'm leaning towards the original Gold Mist. Any feelings?

The current paint is an "Earl Shives" wanna be tan color....door jambs show the original paint.

I think either color would be good with Ivory interior. Even though I love the color Platinum Mist, I would stay true to the cars original paint color if the car is original. If the car is not original at all, paint it whatever color you like. Who is going to drive the car most between you and your wife? That may be an important question to consider.

    Just my two cents,

    Yup

I have to agree with you. The color scheme has been growing on me. And to top it off, the wife said if the car stays gold then I'll be the only one driving it. Sounds like a win-win situation to me! :TU:

I have an platimum mist/black combo. I think the ivory would work very well with the platinum. That particualr color gets very grey wehn dark, but turns almost white int he sun. Very nice combo.

    Hub,
I'd say go with the win-win situation! Sounds like you're leaning towards keeping the gold mist anyway.

BTW, welcome back to the world of Buick GS's! Noticed your signature with the "usta have '66". Still have some of the parts I got from you; most are living well on my '66.

Take care and good luck with your '67!

First, your interior appears to be Trim # 194 which is called DOVE not Ivory - 2nd DOVE was a Recommended color interior for Platinum Mist (Code P) - So according to Buick in 1967 - GO FOR IT!!!! Also are you doing a "Show" restoration or a drive and enjoy restoration? A repaint in a color that does not match the plate can certainly toss out some buyers down the road if you sell the car, many muscle car buyers want "correct matching" - that said, it's certainly your choice since it will be your car. :TU:

Just comes down to keeping the car original or not. That is the only question. Dove was a 'recommended' interior color for every exterior color buick offered on the 67s. So, you could go with whatever exterior color you want, but do you want the car to be original? Do what is going to make you happy!

    I guess that's 3 cents now!!!

    Great thoughts gents!

When the restoration happens - it'll be a drive and enjoy. I think the gold is gonna stay. There aren't too many that I have seen out there and the color has been growing on me.

The thing that is really bad about these buicks is they look good in any color combo. Even some of the off-market colors look good with the A-body lines!

Keith - Regarding the "dove" color. Is it a '67 specific color that differs in shade from other years? I've seen interior paint codes listed for the '68 and later years with ivory and parchment but no reference to dove in '68 and later. Did "parchment" replace it? Just wondering for dyeing (sp?) purposes later on.

Steve - thanks for the welcome back! :beer it's good to be back into buicks again!

    dove

I am not sure what they called it prior to 67, I would consider Dove to be the same/similar as the 68 Parchment.
