Wow! sure doesn't look like $28,000 worth of damage. Total loss with that damage? Unless the driver's side is wiped out and the engine too.

    It's a shame, it's a real nice car.

    damage to value ratio????

Mike, let's say used part's to fix, with a rechrome bumper $1000 MAX, and
just for sake of argument, let's add in, I'll be generous here, 5 hrs of frame
time at $60/hr there's another $300, now were up to $1,300, I'll also be
generous with paint time, and go $1,000 to paint/blend, now it's ALL the
    way up to $2,300 :eek2: , let's see, $250 for radiator support/holdown, $200
for new radiator, $2750, maybe it's an a.c. car, let's just add another $1000
to cover a.c. condenser, a.c. re-charge, and any othe little misc stuff you
    can't see behind the grill(fan shroud,fan,hoses?)
This bring's us up to a whopping $3,750 :eek2:
This was considered not worth repairing, AND they paid off an amount way
higher than I've ever seen a 67 sell for?????Something smell's fishy :Do No:

When you think about it. A shop that would fix it can just buy an entire 67 car even at 8 grand and take the parts off that and sell off the rest as profit. Add another what 4 grand for labor paint? (Sorry not a body guy just figuring high) that would get you up to 12K with a very good parts car. Way below the 28K value.

I am leaning more to that fact the car may have been stolen, the owner was paid off the insured value. Now some weeks later the car is recovered and it was damaged when it was stolen and found. Thief wrecked it and left it. Now the insurance company owns the car and will auction it off. Could this all be a possibility?

I'll bid on it!!! I'll bid on it!!!!!
Where is the car located at exactly and what insurance company? Do you have any contact information? I'll be glad to pick it up and fix it. I have all the parts that it'll need to fix it up.

Also, I think I know who owned this car, his name is Scott. I sold him a part a while back and I have some pics he sent me of his car. I have two different email addys from him so I'll post them both, maybe someone here will recognize them and know his V8Buick handle.

Probably has to much blood and sweat into it to let it go. Hopefully the frame is OK and the rest of the car isn't to far out of alignment.

Does that mean the owner now gets a salvage title?

    Hey GSXER -
There are 2 'functions' coming up
1 - NE GSGN spring meet on April 9 in Mahopac NY
2 - Spring Buick picnic on May 6 in Holland PA
