As title states, when I try to use the turn signals, nothing happens. I changed the flasher, nothing. I took my test light and and I'm not getting power to the flasher socket. Would this mean I need a new turn signal switch?
Does your radio turn on? You should have power on the blue wire. The blue wire taps into the yellow wire that feeds your radio as well. Check the fuse first
Unbolted the fuse box and put my test light directly on the yellow/blue wire. No power to there. Radio doesn't turn on no.
Is the fuse good? Don't visually check it. Sometimes they look good but are bad. Use a DVOM or just swap it with a known good fuse.
So your saying that there is no power at the fuse box? If so, there is a brown wire that comes off the ignition switch that feeds that fuse. It also feeds the blower motor a. So the blower motor shouldnt work either then?
There's power at the other fuses, but not where the blue and yellow wire feed into, no power at that fuse reciptical. I'll trace that brown wire in the morning from the ignition switch. As well ill see if the blower motor runs and get back to ya. Thanks! Trent
Should be a 10 gauge brown wire off the ignition switch that powers both the heater and directional fuses
Good call! Bunched up inside the rest of the wires was the brown wire unhooked. Plugged back in and turn signals/blower are all working! Thanks! While I was running all the wires searching for shorts/checking grounds, it's appears the wires running to the rear are not original. Happen to have a diagram of what color wire runs where? As well as grounds? Would like it to be original as possible! Trent
Define "not original"? If the rear harness has been butchered, it might be easier to just get a new harness than to try and repair yours. I guess it depends how cut up it is I used the 1967 Buick Service manual to trace the wiring for you. In the manual is a three page foldout of the wiring schematic. A service manual is a must have book if you own one of these cars.
