I tore that article out, and still have it....... YOU WANT IT? The paper has browned a little but its all there and good condition. I did underline the major parts with an ink pen. Ronnie Steiner, 11.47 et at 119 mph in the 3600 pound Buick with a 455. has a Kenny Bell mark 4 cam, etc.
Thanks to all the responses I am still trying to get the GS back the owner has been unable to clear out his garage and get the car off the lift. As soon as I have more info I will let everybody interested know.
waiving a WAD of GREEN colored paper with dead presidents on them under the owners' nose is usually a good motivator o No: :beers2:
This is Ron Steiner I've had trouble using my original sign on so I created a new one. Just to bring everybody up to date I finally purchased the car in September of 2017. The body is in great condition with no rust or rot the paint is a 35 year old lacquer which has usual cracking. The engine turns out to be a 455 stage 1, not sure what year. The wiring needs a lot of help and I have started to replace the race car part of the wiring. I probably will take the engine out and possibly rebuild if needed same with the tranny which is a turbo 400 manual shift. If anybody can let me know how to post pictures please let me know. More to come, Later!!
Trouble signing on and a computer guy, too funny! BAD BOY looking car! What a cool blast from the past!
It's been a while since my last update we have moved to Florida just started to put back motor & trans hope to have the car running in about a month. Updated some wiring , radiator cleaned up under hood & painted same. Will post some pictures soon. Looking for exhaust manifolds for this combo (455/67 GS400)
Got to love the mid to late 70's. Paid $600 for the car, $150 for the 455 stage 1 engine and put another $2000 into it. Inflation or not, it was still cheap I think!!
The animal eater will be prowling the streets. I already have 2 race cars to take care of my 55 Chevy 429 SB and my sons 72 chevelle 522 BB both of which run NHRA Super Street
