need to pull the a/c out of my skylark. Unfortunately the factory thought it wise to run the lines through the right fender, so I have to open the system just to pull the fender. It will be a while before the system will be re-installed. What do I need to know about storing the parts? I think I remember being told that the evaporator/dryer will go bad if stored open without refrigerant. Is this correct? Also, will probably have to convert to R134, is it worth the conversion costs? Would it be better to go an aftermarket system, such as Vintage Air or Old Air? Or is keeping the factory system worth the headache. I must add, I am considering smoothing the firewall, so this may also play into my decision. Thanks.
