A friend wants to change out his 3.64 gears on a 70 stage 1 and go with a 3.23 ratio. Unless you use spacers I assume that this requires a change in the carrier. 3.23 was the standard ratio for a 70 GS 350.
Jim, Depending on condition & price of the 8.2 3:64's I'd be interested in a spare set if available. I know in my collection I have a new in the box 3:42 ring & pinion but pretty sure they are only for the 8.5 unfortunately. Regards, John
Hi Jim,don't know if your friend can wait ,just got a 70 GS 350,don't know if the rear is 8.2 or 8.5.I also do not know the size of the gears and I don't have to tell you that its cold in here,so if he is in a hurry, forget about it.Bruno.
Good choice IMHO. I'm sporting 3.23's in my Wagon and they are great. Had them in the 70 Stage 1 4-speed for a while but now back to the original 3.64 gears.
