Is there really a difference? Yearone and The Parts Place both sell a 4 barrel throttle cable but says for 68-71. I have a 72 skylark. Here's my dilemma: my 72 Convertible had a stock 2 barrell 3 on the tree manual trans. 4 years ago I swapped to a Muncie 4 speed, added the TA Stage 1 350 4bbl intake and Holley carb. It worked but dont know if i was getting the full throttle capability....I used the original throttle cable and 2 barrel bracket. Someone said I should have used a 4 barrel cable and bracket....someone from this forum thinks they may have a 4 barrel throttle/intake bracket for me.... So the questions are: 1) do I reallybneed a new 4 barrel cable? 2) or will just the 4 barrel bracket work? 3) if I do need the 4 barrel bracket AND a specific 4 barrel cable, will the the repros I see listed for 68-71 work on my 72? Ok,here's what you do.Have somebody in the car push the gas pedal all the way,with the air cleaner off,car not running you grab the carb line where pedal line is attached and if you can pull it back some,you don't have a full pedal.If that happens,I have the 350 4 barrel bracket that will take that slack off.It makes the line almost one inch longer.Bruno.
Thanks Larry. Once the motor goes in I will check the length. Good idea. I bought the 4 barrel bracket from Bruno. By the way nice to meet you Larry and Bruno and nice '70 Bruno! I called TA and they say the cable is the same for '72 and they sell a small number of throttle cables per the number of intakes so think with Bruno's bracket I should be fine. Thanks again all!
