Going to remove engine for overhaul or rebuild and wondering what the stock engine color was for 68. Thanks. Steve

Buick Red -- Krylon 2114 BUICK RED, Some also use Duplicolor DH-1608. I don't think they're a standard stock item, so you'll probably need your supplier to order it.

NAPA often has the Duplicolor on the shelf.

Buick Red, The 69 was removed and overhauled. Painted and installed. The second picture is the 68 Deluxe which was painted and detailed in the engine bay

Thanks for the replies and pictures. Im not a huge fan of red but it does look nice. Think I'll give it a try. Looks like pretty much everything is painted including the valve covers and water pump. What about the harmonic balancer and oil pan? Thanks again. Steve

Oil pan harmonic balancer timing coverand water pump all painted red. Paint will stick better to aluminum if you use self etching primer first.
