When I made my Corvette duct copy of the 68 Buick duct, I guessed at the demensions. I'm putting on a larger air cleaner and will use my duct till the original copy is made by Frank. What are the original pattern measurements? Need to know so I don't overcut my new aircleaner. Will purchase the clone whem it is ready for market.
OK, I didnt own one at the time I posted that, but thankfully a fellow board member offered up his car to me. I am a proud official member of the 68-69 Stepchild Nation
Welcome! :beer Were you too embarrassed to admit it? :bglasses: (joke) Glad you included the word "proud". :gp:
Ken, I have had several wonderful 68s, and have been looking for the right one for some time. Finally found it with the help of another board member. And you betcha man, I am proud of it
i bought a scoop for my custom as soon as i saw this thread can't wait till its finished please put me down for one thanks chris
Frank, are the metal pieces your own design /addition to this assembly ? My set up has no pieces like your pic.
You should have the curved one for the air cleaner. I made the other one for firewall support. The rubber will cover it. I will be selling all three pieces in a kit to add on to your air cleaner. Frank
Years ago I made one from a corvette duct. I tried to match the original blueprint when cutting my firewall. So.......questions: * What are the hole cuting demensions at the firewall flange? * Is the photo shown above (from David G), the exact reproduction part, or an original?
Does this just draw air from the front tub area or is there a box that will have to be built to direct the air down to it? Looks like a quality set-up. :TU:
