    Hi All,

I am new to the community and to Buick. I have a 68 Riviera GS that I am looking to start slowly restoring. First thing I am looking to tackle are the front brakes. I cant find calipers for a decent price. I have only been able to find 1 person that has refurbished calipers, but they want 450 for left and right plus a 250 core charge for each. There has to be somewhere I can get parts from for a decent price?!

    Any guidance/help is appreciated

    Thank you.

Those front discs, and the associated hardware, are made of unobtanium. If there’s a set out there, this board will be where you’ll see them show up first.

    Welcome to V8 Buick!

The best I can advise is to send your ORIGINALS to White Post Restorations & have them sleeved with brass

At the time I needed mine done, they told me they don't do the Riviera calipers. Might have changed since though. They recommended me to Apple Hydraulics which happen to be right in my backyard. I dropped them off at Apple and they did a great job. They get $315 each currently to sleeve and rebuild. Highly recommended. Theyre not cheap to do.

There is a company that Yardly recommends (not scarebird) that will supply everything needed to use newer more common hardware to upgrade the factory disk brake system. The majority of 2nd gen Rivs came with 4 wheel drums.
