This is the worst of the otherwise minimal rust on this car. The trunk lid seal had obviously been leaking for some time, the spare wheel/tire combo was rusted beyond recognition, and the spare tire well itself has rusted through in a few areas.

Been searching online and everywhere for a steel tire well replacement, but it looks like they don't exist. I would think this would be a common sheet metal replacement item; further that most big-body GM cars would use this setup.

So does anyone know of a supplier for these? Do they even exist, or will I have to drill one out of a parts car?

    TIA!

Gary, we have almost ZERO aftermarket support for our Riv's. As fast as sheet metal goes I've only been able to find floor pans for 66-70. CTC in Texas has lots of parts car Rivs and they may cut the trunk/spare wheel pan out of one for you?

There is a guy on one of the face book pages that just cut out his well to install a fuel cell in its place Jim Willacker. He may have the piece if it didnt get destroyed in the demo. I have a parts car with a good one but really dont wanna cut it up and leave the trunk open to weather.

Desert valley auto parts might be another source. They did have a lot of large Buicks when walked their yard 2 1/2 years ago.
