My headlight switch sounds like it’s frying an egg and blowing my fuse...

I haven’t seen much on this site for the 68-69 so I don’t know if the switch is the same as other years or models.

What’s the best way to remove it?

    Thanks much.

    Matt

Remove the plug that powers it. Then find the little release on the switch. You'll have to reach up behind the dash to find it. When you push it in you will be able to remove the knob and stem. Then you'll need to unscrew the round bezel disk on the front of the dash to remove the switch.

Ok good. Thanks Fred. Sounds like it’s like other years. Finding the release may be a challenge.

It's a spring loaded button, so should not be to hard.

Plug came off easily. I found that spring release easily. I can push release spring in but the knob, stem won’t release. Are there any tricks to releasing it? Do I start with the knob all the way in first? Part way out? All the way out?

    Thanks,

    Matt

All the way out first. Then push the button down. Sometimes they can be a bit stubborn, but it will come out, be patient.

DID you know that putting the red wire Into terminal 3 keeps some lights on 24/7? Hahahaha.

Had to wait on the hook up until the 12 gauge terminals arrived. Super easy to crimp them on.

Everything is lighting up as it should now.
