Does anyone know where i can locate a new brake booster for the 69 wildcat. I am unable to find aftermarket and wasn't really wanting to rebuild mine but rather change it out as it looks like crap. second question, is a disc brake/drum combo booster different from a drum/drum brake booster? thanks in advance. Gordon
Only one available and it is painted black, https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog...20,brake+&+wheel+hub,power+brake+booster,1884 I don't think there is a difference between drum and disc boosters. The master cylinders would be though.
thanks Larry, i see they list 2 and the pictures are a little different then each other however only one is in stock. now i am wondering if one style is disc and the other drum, very Interesting and thanks for the link.
Could be, BUT, if you click on the info tab, you'll see that the one they have available is the Dual Diaphragm one. https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=259231&cc=1025020&jsn=8&jsn=8 The one they are out of is the Single Diaphragm option. https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=259223&cc=1025020&jsn=9&jsn=9 Disc brakes do require more pressure so the one that is available is probably for Disc.
I broke out my Buick manual and appears 2 available, Delco and Bendix which possibly explains the shape differences. The manual says the Bendix units were painted black and so I am guessing the Delco was anodized like the one on my car so I may as well blast my unit and paint it black lol, problem solved.
I've bought several remans from Napa. Never an issue with quality and readily available. Since they are factory units they can be made to look mostly correct with some effort if you choose. Chrome 9" brake boosters send shivers up my spine. They go good with elderbrock carbs and 3/4 race cams..
