69 Electra Front Disc Brakes (Bendix)

Discussion in 'Parts wanted' started by 69DueceQuarter, Sep 11, 2020.

  1. The four piston Bendix rotor is warped. I'd like to find replacements if possible.

Good luck at least it's got a 3 year spread unlike '70 that's one year only.
A forum member may see this as ALL he has is NOS or NORS replacement parts.
I have the used ones I took off my '68 Wildcat many years ago & installed new ones that still have plenty of material left, BUT are not really available for sale.
    I'm sure someone will respond.

    These are absolutely UNOBTAINIUM...
I was the only one on the planet who had them brand new for the last 25 years.....
After I sold my last pair about three years ago -- I have taken 3 names on a "waiting list" that may never happen...
The third name was last year, for a guy who needs only one (1) due to a caliper explosion..... If I find only one (1) and not two (2), he gets the call.....
These for now, and maybe forever, are USED world only, how much meat do they have??? type deal....

I DO HAVE +++ N.O.S. +++ Asbestos +++ Brake Pads for these --- ***CRITICAL *** such that you don't RIP UP these Rotors to smithereens.....

The application is : 1967 - 1969 Buick Electra, Wildcat, and Riviera with the factory four piston Disc Brake s -- ALL --
ONLY --.... No other G M, No other anything...

If you want the +++ Asbestos +++ Brake Pads , or anything else, Always best to simply call me --- Craig ---
    516 - 485 - 1935 ..... New York....

So I have a set I bought for our ‘69 Riv GS off of eBay 10-15 years ago. They would need to be cut. Does anyone have a minimum thickness requirement for these?

If you clean the inside of those rotors, where the # s are....
You may see it... Something looks like .965 -- that might say
Minimum thickness -- and if so, that is it...

I am definitely not sure off the top of my head -- and that is not in my parts catalogs.

Perhaps Tom T. Has that answer.....

Yes, I believe minimum thickness is .965" They look pretty rough. May not clean up @.965".

Recalling that .965 could indeed be correct, because I believe (I am tapping my memory bank from the several years ago!!!!) that NEW was 1.040"....
Which would mean that there was .075" from NEW to
Discard.... (Which, of course, makes sense.....)

Original poster of request has not been back to see any of our assistance.....

Louie's aka breakinbuick11 pictures clearly show the Min Thickness as .965
