I read that there was a special color in 1969 called GS Fireglow. Does anyone have a picture of a car this color. Just curious to see what it looks like.

The famous (or infamous) Dave Shaker has one. Im surprised he hasnt chimed in yet. His car is gorgeous. If I remember right, he's got no paint code on his plate. Just two dashes

Paint code for Fireglow Orange is Q. Interestingly though the color is designated as a Spring color. Whatever that means.

Make him an offer. Everything Chris has is for sale. (Well, almost everything) You just have to find him a 70 convert and then it will be easy! :beer

Of course, you are probably right. George and I are the same in that respect, I am sure if I found a 67 convertibel 4 speed that was nice I could trade for any of his. :beer

According to the fender tag on my 69 GS the paint code is B (Sales code)which is 61 on the paint chart, which is Burnished Brown Poly. I media blasted the car this weekend and it had never been repainted. When we look at the paint chip chart, the color known as Burnished Brown is not even close to the color that was on the car.

Mine is the same as yours, and I can find little parts on my car that weren't repainted, and they look a lot more like fireglow than the paint chip for Burnished Brown. When the guy repainted mine in 1990, they said they were trying to get as close to the original paint color as they coud, which again, did not look like the brown poly paint chips I have seen!

Mark kept telling me on the phone it looks like a copper color. LOL!! I just fell in love with it right off the bat.

I have the spring chip chart with the fireglow chip on it and when you lay it on the car it's a perfect match. So whoever sprayed the car in 91 knew the code and got the right paint. That enamel is 14 years old and looks awesome.
