Today, I installed the new master cylinder and Delco Moraine booster, I also removed the wiper motor and detailed same. Repainted the brake lines, proportion valve, and brackets.

I attended the Syracuse Nationals this pass weekend, this is one of the biggest car happenings on the Right Coast, over 7000 cars attended, everything from stock production, street rods, customs and trucks. I was pleased with the comments from the people. Many thinking that the paint was some new paint. They asked " What color is that?. off of what car?" Must have explained that it was a 69 Spring color about hundred times.

Every one that had seen the GS in 2005, couldn't believe that this was the same car. This is what the 69 GS looked like in 2005.

Today I attended a car show in Orange County NY, the judges used a 100 point scoring system. The GS was looking sharp and the judges came back to the car twice after initial inspection, but come trophy time, the GS didn't even place in the top 100. Judges claimed the paint was not original, I told them that I had just restored the car over the winter and had it painted with the original Fireglow Orange color because it was rare, that only a 156 GS 350's got the spring color. As they walked away, heard one of them " Yeah right" remark. :blast:

Its time to make up a little laminated sheet with all of the details for the paint color. Showing the cowl tag code, the press release sheet with the new spring color (I thought I saw that posted somewhere :Do No: ) and production stats....

Was there a similar color used on the other GM brands or was this color unique to Buick?

Let me guess, all chevy's got awards ahead of you :Dou:

I was thinking the same thing, copies of the DCR, the cowl tag (Q code), the vin tag (Z code) with a paragraph explaining how rare the color was and how it was unique to Buick only in the spring of 69, GM jsut started using a similar color on their new HHR and Ford on their smaller trucks.

The other day I was doing some yard work, cutting the lawn, and wanted to blow out all the leaves and debris that was in the tent. I didn't want to do while the cars where in it or in the driveway, I moved most of them to the out to the street. When I was finished and was going to move them back. I noticed it was a perfect picture. 3 are missing.

Here's the brochure. You can print it out and stick it under those a-hole's noses.

Thanks David, will try to print it and add to the rest of the display with the car. I didn't take the GS anywhere this week, drove the Queen Mary III to all the cruises and show. Little more fun with the 4 speed and XM radio.

David, That brochure, couldn't print as a full page. Too small to read. We'll have to think of something else. Thanks for the attempt.

Today I attended Musclepalooza up at LVD, NY. The weather was still pretty cloudly with a few spinkles, but the day turned out good. I entered the 69GS in the show, and placed first in the Buick Class. :TU:

This weekend was the Good Guyz show in Rhinebeck, NY. There were some nice custom Buicks. One Custom 61 Bubbletop was stunning, but everytime I saw it, I didn't have camera. I would run back to the car to get it and it was gone. He kept changing position in fair grounds. I parked on the hill near the exit road, so I could see most of the cars when they were leaving.

This weekend was the 6th annual Orchard Beach show in the Bronx, due to the threat of rain, only like a 600 cars and over a 1000 bikes attended. The Buicks that attended shined in the overcasted weather.

    two trim code numbers???

    Hi Guys,
Can anyone explain why there are two trim code numbers on the Fisher Body cowl tag pictured in reply #43 in this thread? I am trying to decode an SCO designation on a first gen Riv which also has two trim numbers, neither of which are listed for that particular year??? :Do No: :Dou:
