I believe I have both sides still mounted in their fenders. Going to the GS Nats. in May by any chance? (Fenders not included)
I will not be at the Nationals. Too bad, that would be an easy way to do it. What part of the country are you in? I am in Arizona.
Good evening jmbarber! I'm in South Florida. You are right! Meeting up at the Nationals would have beat the heck out of shipping costs. I looked in the shed this morning. They are in there, but not still mounted to the fenders. I didn't name a price yet because I really don't remember what shape they are in. They're behind a bunch of parts. Shipping would probably be crazy expensive. Something to think about. Don't you all have those big "rust free parts" junkyards out there? Just say'in...
They haul in cars from all over to those "rust free" yards. I am looking, but nothing yet. Sherman might be doing a new run of them, but not sure of that.
I found a set here in the desert that are only slightly better than mine. What shape are your's in, and how can you send me pictures?
I took pictures and can post them here. $150 for the left and $50 for the right. Yes, the right side is ate up like you'd expect. GSFred says they make a patch panel for 70-72. I don't know how well it matches.
Thanks. Sure looks familiar. That battery acid must have been spilled pretty regularly to eat them up like that. I don't know the interchangeability, but will try to sort it out. It would be great if there was a kit and it works.
I’ve seen the ‘70-‘72 patch or section grafted into a ‘68 inner. The contours were close enough that it was perfect for anything other than a judged car. Patrick
Sorry to hijack, but please enlighten me on the difference between a 68-69 and 70-72 inner fender. Why doesn't it interchange from 68-72,what's the subtle differences?
