I just recently found out that the interior of my 69 Riv is the "deluxe" interior and not the standard. This whole time I thought I had the standard interior and that the GS cars had the upgraded interiors. My question now is what does a standard interior look like for the 69 Riv's??? Also on a side note my front turn signals are the small rectangles but I've seen 69 Rivs GS and non GS models with the long slant side front turn signals I'm really confused on that one??o_Oo_O:confused:

Standard bench seat interior for 1969 (see picture)

Your side note, do you mean the cornering lights in the front fenders?
The standard turn signal units in the front fenders are smaller than the cornering units.

You're welcome. What color interior do you have?

My car colour combo was originally polar white paint, non vinyl top with buckskin interior. It is now black on black.

Cool...white paint and buckskin interior...not sure if i ever saw that combo. I have the buckskin in my car.
Black on black looks good on the Riviera

I was told the original first owner was a doctor in Oklahoma and he bought the car for weekends and nice weather only driving. It has quite few options and was well taken care of. I got it with 21,000 original miles. There's one soft spot on the passenger floor and the passenger rear quarter is just starting to bubble where one of the rocker trim pin holes were. Not too bad for a 50 year old car!

21,000 original miles is very little...sounds good...what happened with the original interior?

The PO painted the car black and changed out the old carpet to black. I wasn't to fond of the old yellowed dirty looking buckskin. The dash and pillar pads were cracked, the kick panels were crumbling, headliner split at the seams and sagging etc. So I decided to replace said parts with black OEM parts and dyed the seats and door panels. I replaced the headliner, sail panels and carpet on the door panels with faux black leather. Last thing to do is refoam and dye the front bench seat.

Okay, are you happy with the result so far?

Yes I am. It's hard to find certain reproduction parts for these rivs let alone good OEM parts. You kind of have to work with what you got or spend alot of time and money patiently hunting down parts. There's tons of aftermarket support for the skylark GS cars not so much for the Rivs. I was lucky and most of the hard to find interior parts of my car were still in good shape and I was able to dye them rather than replace them.

I'm adding new black vinyl to the sides of the rear parcel shelf on the 65 Riv. There is a fan outlet on the LHS that I have painted black, as it was rusty.
Makning paper templates to cut the vinyl, will use spray contact cement to mount them.
