What transmission should be in a 69 400 Sportwagon? 400 shortshaft like regular GS? one located in local yard sitting since 83...front end bashed;most trim, glass and rear bumper, engine, trans, carb still there. body rusted through:( (can pick up glass without cutting it out)
full electic windows, locks, am/fm, a/c,

    Steve,
My 68 Sportwagon has a long shaft trans and I would think 69 is the same.

If it has the original trans, it would be a long tail (actually medium, but commonly referred to as long) and a 69 BW model code on the tag. If the trans crossmember is good too grab it as well. The Sportwagon uses the same one as a convertible. Not too many TH400 covertible ones around.
