Curious - Where 70, 71 and 72 Buick GS Convertibles available with the wide stainless belt reveal moldings at the quarter and door windows the 68/69's were about 1/2" to 1" wide and seem to a harder to find option on convertibles.
‘70 to ‘72 had a similar option (not sure the RPO), more of a rounded bead, that ran along the door and quarter, but it was about an inch away from the top. Not sure if convertibles could have it, but on coupes, if you had a vinyl top, it stopped at the corner of the top molding near the quarter glass. It may have been combined with the trim above the rear bumper. Patrick
Nope. Upper peak molding is the proper name. Not available on 1970-72 convertibles only 2 door hardtops.
That is interesting because of the pinch weld molding which is where this was going. Until today (learning everyday) I never realized that there are 2 different types of pinch weld molding for a convertible 68/69 as I was looking for a much nicer set than what I have. They are always listed for 68-72 but only true if there is no upper peak moldings. The pinch weld molding is different as shown in the picture when the molding is present, normal pinch weld molding comes to a small round point. Just another fun thing about 69's
