While cleaning out the garage I found this set of A pillar covers and driver quality one has little dent and some rust. See pictures. $25 plus shipping getting inline first then sent a conversation with interest. thanks for looking IMG_3492.JPG IMG_3493.JPG IMG_3494.JPG IMG_3495.JPG IMG_3496.JPG IMG_3498.JPG

They would be 70-72, the 68-69's were vinyl covered foam pieces with steel inserts.

I have an early 70 that is vinyl covered. Did they change after 70 SOP or was it a MY change as Duane says?

If the '70-2 car was a CONVERTIBLE it also used the vinyl/foam style A-pillar cover. BUT - they may be a different length compared to hardtop covers...don't know 100%.

68-72 Convertible covers are their own animal as they are different at the top due to the convertible latch assemblies.

The 68-69 Coupes also came with vinyl covered pieces, but resemble the 70-72 steel pieces at the top. You could probably install the 68-69 coupe parts on a 70-72 car if you wanted, but I always "assumed" it changed at the beginning of the model year.

I should have noted mine is a convertible. Of course they would be different, I didn’t think of that. Wonder why verts would be Vinyl but not hard tops.

They started out as vinyl covered pieces in 68, and probably stayed that way due to the low numbers of cars being built.

GM probably didn't want the parts to rust, so they left them alone.
