Buick Mags Or try a set of buick mags they will set any Buick off, I put a set on my 64 Lesabre asnd I cant stay out of it... :Brow:
Well, the exhaust leak had to be fixed properly, so the heads were done, a little polishing of the ports and stainless valve seats. The cam was modified mildly, new lifters, rollmaster timing gears and Edelbrock Performer thrown into the mix. Also upgraded to Ford AU Falcon (soon to be released as Crown Victoria in the US) twin thermo fans controlled by a Davies Craig switch to handle the hot summers. After initial problems starting, SUCCESS! Runs great, sounds awesome too. All painted up, polished you can really see the dirty bits.
They are really efficient, it is the middle of winter here though. They kick in at 176F/80C and hold. It'll take some adjusting to find the right spot, the heater isn't as warm as it used to be.
[ E] Those EF/EL AU Ford fans really work a treat my 350 Buick has a 3 core so not a problem but the sons V8 powered Capri running 9" 4.33 gears was always heating up until fitting the AU Falcon twin fan set up. By the way a neat car you have yourself.
I attened the GM days this year at Cranbourne racecourse in November & American show day at Flemington racecourse in March 2007 if your attending I will catch up with you. There is quiet a few Buicks in Australia as they were made here until the late 40's or early 50's & a unique to Australia 1946 models.I'am a member of the the Buick car club of Australia in Victoria. Here is their web site. I don't think I've seen a Buick hearse at any show in Australia. The closest to a hearse is a members 1978 Estate wagon he has for sale. www.buickcarclub.org.au
Had no idea they were made here. Any more information on that? As for the Cranbourne show, that's not too far away, I'll make the effort. Always looking for an excuse.
Those wires look surprisingly good. I still would like to see it with some red painted 15" steel weels, poverty caps, and tall, wide whitewall tires.
Really nice car, its in top shape. I have never seen a buick wagon in my area before, but i'm seeing other GM wagons now on the street and or being fixed up. Nice to see old iron on the streets !
Finally had it put in for repairs, The holes in the doors where the plaque was riveted, the rust spot in the rear quarter under the window, and the holes in the tailgate where the ugly yellow indicators were mounted. Paint match turned out to be perftct! And a clip with the new extractors, and the tips have been moved to the rear. A bit fumy with the back window down.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWAgnuMQyfM
