Hi - trying to tackle another problem with my newly bought '70 GS, first one is the alternator problem posted to Sparky's Corner. Second problem is the driver side door, which is jammed shut and the driver side window is tilted backwards - something has happeded during transportation from US to Finland. Anyway, the problem is that driver side door cannot be opened at all, not from outside nor from inside. The situation is that door lock pin has disappeared completely, the driver side door lock seems to be inoperable and inside the car, the handle is stuck. Only thing moving at the moment is the button on the outside door handle. Additionally the driver side window is some 2" open and slightly tilted backwards (like some 1/2", measured from upper righthand corner). Window sholdn't be a big issue if I only could get the door open and have the door panel removed - but how in the h**l can I get that door open, any ideas? -JJ-
1/2 hours of work and I managed to get my hand inside the door and open the lock! The glass just is not sitting properly, as it seems to interfere with the door opening mechanism; the inside handle does not work, but the door can be opened from outside now. At this stage this is sufficient... -JJ-
