    Hello Buick community,
I recently bought a 1970 GS and I am in the process of making it road legal for Germany now.

Whereas most of the car's condition is very good, I found a rust spot behind the rear passenger wheel well, on the inside, adjacent to the exhaust pipe (see also pic). Where the green circles are it is rusted through and the orange line marks more or less the size I tend to replace.

Now I am looking for a matching sheet metal piece, but the vendors I am aware of don't seem to sell exactly that portion. I found trunk floor, wheel well inner and outer, but those do not cover my area of concern, right? Does anybody have an advice for me?

    Thanks
    Carsten

That's called the "trunk drop off", no need for a specific replacement, just need a piece of sheet bull nose body hammer or door skin hammer and a leather sandbag remove small of area as possible then shape the new section to fit, if it's in a flat area no need to "shape" it obviously.

Second option is to clean area real well and epoxy in donor section then redcoat with Raptor Berliner or the like.

    Thanks hugger!
Now that I know the correct designation of that part I was able to find it online. But going with a patch the smallest possible size looks like a good alternative.

By the way, is there a drawing out there where one can see the single sheet metal pieces the body is consisting of, something like an exploded view?
Have the Fisher service manual and also the Buick Assembly Instruction manual but have not found something like this.

I will be cutting up a 72 Skylark body this weekend. I will see if that is good.
