My father and I recently hired a vendor to restore his '70 GS Stage 1. To save money we decided to order our own parts. The first items needed are the significant sheet metal parts (passenger floor, trunk floor, inner wheel housing, quarter panels, etc.). For simplicity we'd like to order most of the parts from a single vendor. The obvious choices are Year One, OPG and AMD. I've seen several recommendations for AMD quarter panels in various message threads, but was wondering if anyone had any experience or strong recommendations for/against Year One or OPG (or AMD for non-quarter panel sheet metal). Any recommendations for other vendors? Cost is a consideration but more important is the quality, fit and similarity to the OEM part. AMD advertises genuine GM Restoration Parts. Is this a reliable indicator of quality? Also, out of curiosity, is there a single manufacturer for Skylark/GS sheet metal? When we inquired as to the availability for quarter panels, both Year One and OPG had a wait time of two weeks, which seems to imply they have the same source. AMD had them in stock but at a lower price than either Year One or OPG. This seemed strange to us if AMD was the supplier (Year One is listed as an AMD dealer). Any information or assistance is appreciated.
Only AMD re-makes the full quarters and core supports. The shipping costs and delays associated with resellers like YO and OPGI are such that I would look for other options. Fenders are not reproduced. I have some GM NOS fenders for sale if you need those.

This is true. But the owner is a Board member here. He persuaded AMD to make these sheet metal parts. At one time he was selling these at a discount. We try to support him for this reason.
I'm going to order my quarters from Muscle Car Metal out of N.H. They are the AMD's but better pricing and a reasonable shipping rate. ....... Good luck! Jim
