This is the tire that was in the trunk of my 70 GS stage one when I bought it in 1983, trying to figure out if it is the original tire to the car There are no weights on the wheel it's a 15 x 7 rally wiheel
Ploy glass G60 car from the factory can someone please decipher the build date of the tire See pics. would greatly be appreciated thanks Frank. IMG_1839.JPG IMG_1840.JPG IMG_1841.JPG

Frank, I believe that would be the 5th week of '72 (or theoretically '82 or 92, but they were discontinued by then). I have a few original spare assemblies from the early '70's and all 3 have weights. I'd suspect it was replaced.

The spare in my GS when I purchased the car was smooth as glass. Someone drove the tire almost the end.

The tire in the trunk of my car has very little wear on it that's why I thought it was original tire to the car.

It’s not white lettered so it’s not original. All 70 15x7 wheels had Goodyear polyglas G60-15 tires. With white letters

Do you see the WG mark with date code next to it? Should say M4 over a 9 or 0 then numbers for month and day.

    dynaflow shiftless...

Rallye wheel spare reminds me how things have changed...first, non-matching rim (so much for 5-tire rotation), then compact spare, now patch kit and can of air. Assume next will be nothing...you have a cell phone don't you?:)
