It was a bit sticky today. I've been bugging my neighbor about putting in a window that I bought last year so I can throw in a window unit. No success so far, though. So I remain soaked in sweat. I'm used to it though, working outside all day.

    Looks great! :beers2:

If you ever want more fun, I've got a car you can block.

Not as of right now. I have to finish one more stainless project for a customer, then I can get back to work on this. I have someone dropping off a 57 Special coupe today, so that's another project. Not enough room here!

I have a ton of parts now, to throw on the Skylark. One of Mark's Qjets will be here Monday, new black vinyl top, headliner, all new rubber parts, window sweeps, and a bunch of other misc little trinkets....trying to have this done before the beginning of September. Maybe earlier because we have a musical that we're supposed to play in the pit orchestra, and that is a major time suck for two weeks.

I was able to hammer out a few hours in the garage tonight...

So the body shell and fenders are now ready for the last coat of primer before paint. I still have to strip the trunk lid and body work it. The hood is...going to be a pain in the rear. Basically the entire hood will be covered in a light coat of filler due to the warpage. Hopefully I can make it look halfway decent. If not, then I guess I'll be using the Skylark hood, or finding another GS hood. That would mean I have to spend more money, though.

The drivers side quarter was ugly. That was the side with 3 gallons of filler in it. Turns out that it didn't need all that filler. The previous body guy decided to take all of the contour out of the top of the quarter and just trowel it smooth. I know it won't be perfect, but it is going to bug me when I see it with that glossy clear coat. Oh well.

Adam, I feel your pain on the "it is going to bug me when I see it" thing. Since you did the car all this way, you'll know every little imperfection that 90% of people will never notice. I'm bad about it. Everytime I look at my car all I see are little imperfections that drive me nuts. If I say something, nobody else ever seems to see it unless I go point to it. But it's all i see and drives me crazy!

But your progress has been good and brought back alot of (sometimes painful  ) memories! Keep us posted, look forward to the finished product.

Jim, your car was the inspiration. I am surprised at how few are painted this color.

Here is a spot on the front right fender that I knocked down with 2000 grit real quick and buffed clean. It's not blocked, so has some waves in the clear. Once blocked, all those fluorescent lights will straighten out :)
