I just received my rear bumper recently purchased on Ebay. I plan to fit it up this weekend. The bumper appears to be original but doesn't have the holes for the emblem. It should work just fine and I'm happy to drill the holes at some point, more curious than anything else, why wouldn't it have the holes? Thanks, Tom

That style bumper was on the bottom end of of the skylark models. Just be careful as drilling through the chrome plating can sometimes be tricky.

That would be pretty cool like that.

Thanks for the response Fred. Based on the poor condition of my emblem I won't be rushing to install it.

I have one on my Skylark convertible(should have one with emblem holes, sign #4 of many it was rearended.) It is just a lot of open chrome...somewhat recessed like there is something missing.

There was one around my area, it was a 2-door post model.

It would be perfect for a bare-bones car. The way I like them.

Be proud. Put a Buick plate on there!

Duane, opposite story to yours. There was a guy in my neighborhood in the 80’s when I had 442’s that had a 70 Olds Cutlass 4 door and the thing had a dual exhaust cut out rear bumper but no duals. I grabbed him getting into his car at a store one day and asked him why? He said original was damaged and dealer ordered the wrong one and put it on anyway. I asked him if he ever wanted to sell the car let me know. He lived right near my friend so I saw the car everyday. He flagged me down one day and said car was for sale. I offered him $500 and he took it. I swapped the bumper with the correct one and sold the car to my brothers friend for the same money. It worked out as I soon used that bumper when some moron reading a newspaper in heavy traffic rear ended my w-30 Convertible. Since I had the bumper I just pocketed the insurance money. For the young that just don’t know. Newspapers were the cellphones of the day.

    That's funny.

I’m proud to have BUICK,but I like things plain and simple. I don’t like all that extra molding stuff. I eliminated the rocker moldings on my silver car,but unfortunately it has the peak reveal and the trunk trim that I wish it didn’t have, but then I would have to repaint it. Removing the rocker trim wasn’t as bad.
    No vinyl tops either.

It is funny but terrifying to watch someone in the rear view mirror unfold it and read it on the steering wheel.
