He reused the original cast pistons on the rebuild. New pistons are not that expensive relative to the cost of the engine.

The engine is cosmetically very nice.

 

Non Buick carb, Valve covers painted not chromed? Is it really an SS or a restamp. I would wonder about this one.

 

Can 1970 Stages 1's be search with the serial#.

 

Yes I am unsure whether this one is in Sloans or Wayne's records since it has L heads.

 

Good Point...my car also has "L" cast engine components and Wayne had my records.

Glen, Isn't that a Chevy Q-jet carb on it. (side fuel intake)

 

No question but that the carb is incorrect. This makes the dist number even more interesting.
