Also, how are the hood hinge bracket bolt holes on each side?

So there is a gusset in the hood for a spring? 70 was the only year 70-72 without the spring.

I thought 70 had the 3 edge peice of chrome on the lip of the hood?......and 71-72 had the wider flat peice? Steve

Just TO CLARIFY: 70-72 GS steel hoods are basically the same..YES, the HOOD TRIMS are different on all 3 years but ANY OF THE 3 CAN INTERCHANGE ON ANY 70-72 HOOD!! The ACTUAL hood differences are, the 70 has NO SPRING...71 & 72 does. Other'n those, the GS hoods are basically the same. hth. :TU: Wheelz, Tampa Bay

 

Thanks for the heads up Shag - I gotta hold out for a 71-2 though to simplify things on my project... If the insert parts aren't damaged and wheelz doesn't need them, let me know - might still be worth having them to put away in case I do come across a correct hood later.
