I purchased a repo 1971 GS grille from The Parts Place Inc. For $629.00 and had several problems. (1) Several Scratches (2) 5 mounting studs were included instead of 6. (3) The mounting studs were all the same length not like the originals that were different lengths.(4) The mounting studs diameter are are too large and do not thread into the new grille and do not fit into the existing mounting holes on the core support. I contacted The Parts Place and as usual THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS WRONG !!!. Instead of getting answers like, "we"re sorry sir, let me send you the correct hardware, sorry for the inconvenience, I got a list of JOBS i now have to perform like TAKE PICTURES,EMAIL A COPY OF THE INVOICE, SEND A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEMS, WRITE A LETTER ABOUT THIS, DO THAT, like i did something wrong! I only spent $1,775.00 with them. Every time i place an order with THE PARTS PLACE, I end up with a problem! Just letting everyone know the reality of what really goes on.

Hw many people will see this thread and not buy from the Parts Place?

    Probably a few thousand.

When bad news go viral, it will result in lost sales.

    Not a good move.

Unfortunately TPP is the only vendor supplying the 71 GS grilles. So this is the only thing available. A friend of mine bought a grille from OPGI and had the same issues with the studs being too large and paint not correct. When we contacted OPGI they said the supplier was TPP.

I also got the 71 repro grill, and the studs were right, but I was disappointed by the overall quality considering the cost. Had to epoxy two of the studs when they snapped off, and it feels like any part of it could break if I just breathed on it a little too heavily.

Are they the same grilles or different manufacturers? I thought the stud issue had been resolved by now, the early ones holes were too small and had to be drilled out...
