Hi all, Came across this ad and wondered if anyone could give more inside Not mine https://centralmich.craigslist.org/pts/d/ceresco-buick-1971-gs-7-rims-and-rings/7093078763.html Regards,
I heard they had issues cracking in places. Might be the reason for 1 year only. I always liked the look of them
I have a set of 4 off of a 71 GS350 “winter car” I owned long ago. I kept them because I though the were cool and unusual. They are 14x6”. I never had any issues when I was using them. Somebody (?) long ago told me they they were called “Century Super Sport” wheels. They were painted gray when I bought the car they were on. I “color keyed” them and ran them on my 70 for a while.
They were available in 71 & 72, and were called "Super Sport Wheels". For 69-70 the Super Sport Wheels looked like the 14" chrome wheels, but were painted and had trim rings. For 71-72 they kept the same name, but were changed to the other design. Duane
I think Gary was looking but right now no one is converting them to 15" anymore so I think he has changed his mind about looking for any. I also think they are dreaming if they think that 14" wheels are going to bring $550 lol
I have a set of 70 ss 14 inch wheels. I like them but 14 inch don't clear disk brakes. If any one wants them I'd let them go cheap. One is a bit messed up. Local pick up only (massachusetts) Costs more to ship then they are worth.
The SS wheels were made in 71 as 14x6 size and 72 were 14x7 (hard to find). I have them on my 71 GS350 4 speed car with 4 wheel drum brakes.
Correct. Thanks for thinking of me Kerry. Also correct Ryan. I want to make a set into 15" since there are no drag radials made for a 14" rim. I can't justify $550+shipping for wheels that will only provide the centers. If anyone knows of a reliable source for cutting out the centers and replacing with a 15" chrome hoop, please let me know.
