I am wanting to put 20" wheels on my 71 Riviera as well as lower it a couple of inches. Just wanted to know if anyone knew good tire and wheel size combos for what I'm trying to do. Info on offset, width, and tire size would be great. Thanks for any info. Ryan

Most guys on V8 aren't going to be putting 20" wheels on their 71 Riviera. I don't think you are going to get an answer, at least not for awhile, so I'll take a stab at it.

The Riviera in 1971 used a stock tire size of H78-15. That tire is 28.36" tall. You would like to stay as close to that height as possible (within .5") so as to maintain you speedometer readings and your overall rear gear ratio. A P245/45R-20 tire is 28.68" tall. Here are a few for you to choose from on tirerack,

That would easily fit on a 20" X 8" rim.

The stock Buick Rallye wheel was a 15 X 6" rim with 3 7/8" back space. If you go up 2" in rim width, increasing the back space by 1" to 4 7/8" should keep the rim centered in the wheel well.
